Nick Rolovich reportedly lands new coaching job in Seattle
Nick Rolovich is back coaching in the state of Washington.
According to multiple reports, the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL have hired Rolovich to be the team’s new offensive coordinator. Sea Dragons head coach Jim Haslett reportedly revealed the decision during an online meet & greet on Thursday.
Rolovich has been out of college football since Oct. 2021.
Washington State fired him seven games into the 2021 season after Rolovich refused a state-mandated COVID vaccine for state employees. Rolovich, who is Catholic, sought a religious exemption from the vaccine mandate and then sued the school after he was terminated on the basis of religious discrimination.
According to KREM2, that suit against Washington State is still ongoing, with a court date set for Dec. 9. In May, a judge dismissed Rolovich’s lawsuit against Gov. Jay Inslee and WSU Athletic Director Pat Chun.
Rolovich went 5-6 at Wazzu before being terminated. During the COVID season in 2020, Washington State went 1-3. Rolovich landed in Pullman after a 28-27 record in four seasons with Hawaii.
