Washington wins key battle for 2023 Minnesota defensive lineman
Washington is running into Minnesota with some frequency under new head coach Kalen DeBoer.
So Tuesday should serve as a major win. The Huskies beat out the Gophers for 2023 Moorhead (Minn.) defensive tackle Elinneus Davis. Davis chose the Huskies over interest from the hometown Gophers and Iowa State, among others. Davis announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Davis rates as a 3-star in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He ranks as the fourth-best prospect from the state of Minnesota and the 100th defensive lineman in the 2023 class. He’s also the 877th overall recruit in the country. Davis took an official visit to Seattle back on June 24, meaning UW has now landed 11 from that week of official visitors.
In total, the 2023 class now has 17 known commitments.
