Washington continues to battle roster turnover following the departure of Kalen DeBoer and the hiring of new head coach Jedd Fisch.

On Wednesday, a handful of Huskies hit the portal, including the previous reports related to starting center Parker Brailsford. Now, Washington is losing another veteran offensive lineman to the portal.

The lineman in question is Geirean Hatchett, a player with 4 years in the program who played a key role during the 2023 season. After appearing in all 13 games in 2022, Hatchett made 4 starts at right guard during the 2023 season. He would miss 3 games due to injury after appearing in the first eight games of the season but returned to the lineup against Washington State.

The turnover after losing DeBoer is somewhat expected, but Fisch will need to pick up the pieces as best as possible. Already, the Huskies were losing key pieces to the NFL Draft, and the program is now watching a wave of pieces hit the portal.

Hatchett and Brailsford join left guard Nate Kalepo in the portal. Tight end Tre Watson and quarterbacks Will Rogers and Austin Mack are some of the other key pieces to hit the portal since the coaching change.
