Washington has now seen five players enter the transfer portal since the 2022-23 season came to a close. On Friday, freshman forward Tyler Linhardt and senior guard Cole Bajema announced their decisions to enter the portal.

Bajema is entering the portal as a grad transfer. He spent three seasons at UW after initially playing for Michigan as a true freshman. Linhardt just wrapped up his true freshman season. He was a 3-star recruit from Seattle in the Huskies’ 2022 class.

The duo joins Jackson Grant, P.J. Fuller, and Langston Wilson as portal-bound Huskies. UW is still awaiting word from Keion Brooks, Noah Williams, and Sam Ariyibi on whether they’ll be back in Seattle next season; none have made public declarations one way or the other.

With coach Mike Hopkins returning, Washington is expecting back Braxton Meah, Franck Kepnang, Koren Johnson, and Keyon Menifield.

Bajema played 30 minutes a night for Washington this past season. He was second on the team in playing time and fourth in scoring, putting up 8.8 points a game. The team’s leading 3-point shooter, Bajema connected on 36% of his triples on 4.4 treys a night. The 6-foot-7 Lynden native became a full-time starter for the first time in his career this season and turned in a career-high in scoring.

Linhardt played in only three games this past season as a first-year player, totaling just 15 minutes on the floor. He scored his only six points of the year in a Dec. 17 win over Idaho State.
