Washington is once again sitting in the “receiving votes” section of the latest AP Top 25. Oregon State entered the media poll this week for the first time since Week 9 of the 2013 season. The winner of next Friday’s game in Seattle gets the top-25 spot.

And opening odds from Vegas show the Huskies as a slight favorite for the battle.

According to Circa Sports, Washington is a five-point opening favorite in the game. The over/under is set at 61.5.

Both teams are coming off their bye weeks. Washington beat Cal 28-21 on Oct. 22 while Oregon State easily dispatched Colorado 42-9.

The Beavers have also been excellent against the spread this year. They’re 6-2 in that regard. They’ve been the underdog three times so far, winning outright once — a 35-32 win over Fresno State on Sept 10 — and then covering a 5.5-point spread against USC at home. They were a 10-point dog against Utah on Oct. 1 and lost by 26.

Coach Jonathan Smith would probably like to forget that one.

On the other side, Washington opened the year 4-0 against the spread, but hasn’t covered any of the last four times it has been on the field. It was a three-point favorite over UCLA and lost, a 13.5-point favorite over Arizona State and lost, a 14.5-point favorite over Arizona and won by 10, and then a 7.5-point favorite over Cal and won by seven.

A bye week came at the perfect time for UW, which used the week to get healthier.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on Friday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
