Washington lost the top-ranked 2024 recruit in the state to Texas A&M. The Huskies also saw the third-ranked prospect commit to Michigan. UW doesn’t want to go 0-for-3 on the state’s top prospects this cycle.

And that makes the recruitment of Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea tailback Jason Brown one to watch coming down the stretch. The blue-chip running back revealed his three finalists on Thursday, with Washington joined by Oregon and Michigan State.

The Huskies and Spartans are believed to be the top two in the race for his signature. Brown took an official visit to MSU on June 23 but has yet to take OVs to either UW or Oregon. The Huskies host the Ducks on Oct. 14, and they also travel to face the Spartans on Sept. 16. Not that these things ever really come down to who beats who on the football field, but coach Kalen DeBoer and Co. will have a chance to show Brown why UW is the place to be against his other finalists.

And DeBoer is hoping to add Brown to the 2024 class. He’s an elite tailback prospect, ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the state and the No. 11 back in the industry-generated 247 Composite. Brown is a 4-star recruit and the No. 131 overall prospect in the class.

Brown is a one-cut back who displays solid vision. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
