Washington guard Keyon Menifield Jr. is entering the transfer portal.

Menifield was part of Washington’s 2022 recruiting class. He had a solid 1st season with the Huskies, earning Pac-12 all-freshman team honors.

Here’s his announcement:

Menifield played in 31 games this year and made 21 starts. He averaged 10 points and 3.1 assists per contest and looked to be a major part of the Huskies’ future in the back court.

Instead, he will move on. Menifield is from Flint, Michigan, so it’s possible he’s looking to transfer closer to home. He was the No. 217 overall player and the No. 37 point guard in the country for the class of 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Washington has had several players enter the transfer portal this offseason. Cole Bajema, Tyler Linhardt, Jackson Grant, P.J. Fuller and Langston Wilson have all announced their plans to leave the program.

Rebuilding this roster will be a major task for Mike Hopkins and his coaching staff. Washington has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
