Washington remained at No. 5 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, released Sunday.

After a second straight week with a less-than-impressive win, Washington (8-0, 5-0 Pac-12) held onto its spot in the new media poll. The Huskies, despite inconsistencies since the win over Oregon on Oct. 14, are still unbeaten and they’re one of only a handful of teams in all of college football who can say that.

Washington beat Stanford in Week 9, 42-33, behind a four-touchdown day from quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

UW is joined by No. 6 Oregon, No. 16 Oregon State, No. 18 Utah, No. 20 UCLA, and No. 24 USC in the latest poll.

The Huskies will be very curious about where they fall in the first College Football Playoff rankings reveal on Tuesday. They’re unbeaten, and if Oregon debuts inside the top 10, Washington could have one of the best wins of anyone in the country.

But that 36-33 victory at home has been followed up with a 15-7 win over Arizona State and the win over Stanford on Saturday. UW hasn’t been able to separate offensively in either game, and after a really strong defensive performance in the Week 8 win over the Sun Devils, that group was again chewed up a bit by Stanford in Week 9.

Washington will have plenty of opportunities to prove itself down the stretch, however. It faces USC in Los Angeles on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT on ABC. It also has games against Utah, Oregon State (on the road), and Washington State remaining.
