Washington earns transfer pledge from former Vanderbilt linebacker
Washington secured a transfer pledge on Saturday from former Vanderbilt linebacker Ethan Barr.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Barr will have one season of eligibility remaining and joins the Huskies as a grad transfer. He spent four seasons in Nashville and played immediately as a true freshman in 2020. He was voted a team captain in each of the last two seasons.

Barr signed with the Commodores as a 3-star recruit out of Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus in the 2020 class. He played in all nine games that year (with three starts) and produced 37 tackles.
As a sophomore, he made 85 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and three interceptions in what was statistically the best season of his career.
Over the last two seasons, Barr has totaled 97 tackles, five TFLs, a sack, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup.
When the season concludes, UW will say goodbye to Ralen Goforth and Edefuan Ulofoshio. Carson Bruener and Alphonzo Tuputala will return and play key roles. Youngsters in the room include Jordan Whitney (2023 3-star), Deven Bryant (2023 3-star), and Khmori House (2024 3-star).
