Jacob Lane will stay home.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge rusher from Puyallup (Wash.) Emerald Ridge announced on social media Monday that he has committed to UW. Lane chose Washington over interest from Arizona, Utah, Air Force, and Cal, among others.

Lane was scheduled to take an official visit to Washington this week, but he actually committed on the field at Husky Stadium after Emerald Ridge took him the trophy as champions of the UW 7-on-7 tournament over the weekend.

Lane rates as a 3-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s the 77th-ranked edge rusher in the class and a top-15 recruit in the state of Washington. He ranks 902nd overall in the cycle.

As a junior for Emerald Ridge last fall, Lane posted 47 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. He gives Washington its fifth known commitment in the 2023 class. You can view his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
