Washington defensive back Alex Cook is having a baby boy later this fall.

And he told the Pac-12 Network’s Yogi Roth at Media Day over the weekend he and his partner already have a name picked out. Cook’s son will go by Asa, which happens to be the name of one of his Husky teammates. In fact, Asa Turner, another Washington defensive back, will be the godfather to Cook’s son. Check out the moment:

Cook is a sixth-year senior this fall for Washington. In a secondary that regularly produces NFL talent, perhaps Cook is the next in line. He started nine games last season and three during the four-game 2020 season. Turner, a fourth-year junior, started four games last season and could be in line to start opposite Cook this season at the other safety spot.

UW is hoping for a bounceback this season, but no matter how the year ends, Cook will have something to look forward to in December.
