Michael Penix Jr., Washington’s dynamic quarterback, is set to have his own trading card.

It’s through a NIL deal Penix signed with Panini America. According to On3, it’s a “multi-year NIL deal”, with an “Instant Card” now available after his performance in the season opener against Boise State.

“Michael has clearly emerged as one of the country’s top football players and is a natural fit to join the growing Panini athlete roster,” Jason Howarth, the senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations at Panini, said in a statement to On3. “We look forward to working with him and offering his exclusive products to fans.”

Against the Broncos, Penix was 29-of-40 for 450 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Huskies came away with a 56-19 win.

In the early stages, he has emerged as a potential Heisman Trophy contender, and showings like the one he had against Boise State won’t only get him the Heisman, but could put the Huskies in the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2016.

Penix and Washington host Tulsa on Saturday.
