Michael Penix Jr. gets emotional after Washington storms back to beat Oregon
Michael Penix Jr. has had to endure quite a lot during his college football career. On Saturday, with a 36-33 win over Oregon at home, Penix experienced a magical moment.
The Heisman frontrunner perhaps had his Heisman moment. The seventh-ranked Huskies perhaps finally earned their respect after knocking off the eighth-ranked Ducks.
After the game went final and fans stormed the field, Penix was overcome with emotion talking to ESPN’s Holly Rowe about the moment.
“I’m just so proud, so proud of this team, and I just thank God for everything that he allowed me to have,” Penix said.
Penix and his family shared a special moment on the field, too.

Penix completed 22 of his 37 passes in the game, going for 302 yards and four touchdowns. He got the action going early with a pair of explosive pass plays to Giles Jackson and Ja’Lynn Polk, and then he found Rome Odunze in the final two minutes for the game-winner.
