Kalen DeBoer and the unbeaten Washington Huskies head into the bye week looking to get healthy above all else.

In a 31-24 win over Arizona, the Huskies were without safety Asa Turner for a third consecutive game and wideout Jalen McMillan for a second consecutive game. Defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa exited in the first half with a lower-body injury and didn’t return. Wideout Rome Odunze took a major shot on the onside attempt at the end of the game.

Asked Monday if he thought the upcoming off weekend gives UW a chance to be as healthy as its been all year heading into a top-10 matchup with Oregon, DeBoer was optimistic.

“Yeah, I think so,” DeBoer said. “The bye week is definitely helpful for a few.”

Co-defensive coordinator William Inge called Letuligasenoa “tough as nails” on Monday and said he’d be “like he needs to be at game time.”

Added DeBoer: “The bye week is really critical for him because maybe this next week might have been tough but I’m really hopeful that he’ll be good to go here in two weeks.”

The big one — or two, as it were — would be at wide receiver. Odunze and McMillan are both NFL talents. Washington needs them both on the field going against Oregon, which has the nation’s third-ranked pass efficiency defense.

Odunze leads the Pac-12 in receiving, with 608 yards. McMillan is third in the Pac-12 in yards per game, with 103.7.

McMillan’s status is a bit less clear. The initial prognosis after he left the Michigan State game was that he was fine, and being held out in the second half had more to do with the situation the game was in than anything else. But he has missed the last two games.

DeBoer didn’t mention him by name on Monday.

He was asked about Odunze and revealed that his situation was a little more serious than DeBoer initially thought right after the game ended, but DeBoer expects Odunze to be fine.

“Definitely took a hit there. You can see it on TV and everything. He’s doing well right now. Little sore. Some things like that,” DeBoer said. “We’ll definitely use both of these weeks to have him come back. So, more than what I thought — thought it was just the wind knocked out of him — but he’ll be fine.”
