Kalen DeBoer reacts to Edefuan Ulofoshio's pick-six for Washington
Kalen DeBoer and the Washington Huskies have had no trouble scoring on anyone this season, but against Cal, it wasn’t just the offense putting points on the board.
UW had a lead before the offense even stepped on the field. Cal quarterback Ben Finley never saw UW linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio over the middle and threw it right to him on the sixth play of the game. Ulofoshio had to break an arm tackle attempt from Finley and he walked in for six on his first career interception.

After the game, Husky head coach Kalen DeBoer couldn’t say enough about the work Ulofoshio has done.
“You are so happy for a guy like Ede. He is so easy to root for with as long as he has been here and the things he has been through,” DeBoer said. “With how hard he has worked and the type of person he is, he is so respected by each and every guy on the team.”
Two weeks ago in a first quarter against Tulsa, the sixth-year senior dropped a sure-fire interception. He made things right Saturday night in UW’s Pac-12 opener.
Not that the Huskies need help on the scoreboard. The offense managed 45 points itself and took a 45-12 lead into the break at halftime. But when that kind of outfit can get points from the other phases of the game — Ulofoshio scored on defense, then Rome Odunze returned a punt 83 yards for a 14-0 lead — it makes everything easier.
Well, almost everything.
“I feel like I have been in that situation before, but I can’t remember. It is one of those things where the quarter is halfway over and you haven’t stepped onto the field offensively and so you always want to get into a rhythm,” DeBoer said. “The guys did a great job and you are never going to complain when you have 14 points on the board that quick. It was fun.”
