Kalen DeBoer critical of controversial call that set up crucial Oregon TD to end first half
Kalen DeBoer wasn’t happy with a controversial pass interference call that helped Oregon reach the endzone just before halftime on Friday night.
Facing a second-and-10 with under a minute left in the half, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix launched a pass into the end zone, well beyond the nearest Duck wide receiver. However, pass interference was called as there was a lot of contact between Oregon wideout Troy Franklin and Washington defensive back Jabbar Muhammad on the play.
At halftime, ABC’s Holly Rowe asked DeBoer about what he said to Muhammad and what his thoughts were on the play.
“When the ball is that far out of bounds, and you know it, ease off,” DeBoer said. “But it looked pretty uncatchable to me.”

Instead of facing a third-and-10, Oregon was awarded a first down in the red zone. The Ducks scored a few plays later to make it a 20-10 game going into halftime.
Washington won the first meeting between these programs earlier this season, 36-33. The winner of this matchup will likely be in position to reach the College Football Playoff.
