Joel Klatt urges Playoff committee to ‘do the right thing’ and put Washington in top 4
Joel Klatt made the case for Washington to be in the top four of the new College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.
Monday’s version of The Joel Klatt Show had the broadcaster state that if an SEC school beat the 11th-ranked team on the road with rainy conditions, people would be singing their praises. Klatt thinks Washington’s win over Oregon State should be talked about more.
“If any SEC team would’ve gone on to the road and beaten the 11th-ranked team in the country and that 11th-ranked team in the country had won 16 of 17 at home and it was raining, we would be singing their praises from on high,” said Klatt. “We need to start doing that with Washington because that was an unbelievable win. The Playoff committee needs to do the right thing and put Washington into the top 4.”

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit also made similar comments after the Huskies beat the Beavers 22-20 at Reser Stadium, clinching their spot in the Pac-12 title game.
Washington ends the regular season with the Apple Cup in Week 13. The Huskies brought the trophy back to Seattle last season with a 51-33 win.
We’ll see how the updated rankings shake out on Tuesday, with the reveal show on ESPN set for 4 p.m. PT. Washington moved up to No. 4 in this week’s AP poll.
