Former Washington LB to miss entire 2023 NFL season following leg injury
Former Washington linebacker Shaq Thompson is expected to miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season following a lower leg injury suffered against New Orleans on MNF.
Thompson, who plays for the Carolina Panthers, suffered the injury after being rolled on following the end of a play last night. Immediate thought was that the injury was ankle related, but after surgery this morning it was confirmed that he will miss the entire season with a fractured fibula.
Absolutely brutal for the 29-year-old, who before this season had not missed more than 14 games across his 8 prior seasons in the league.
Coach Frank Reich confirmed that Shaq Thompson has a fractured fibula and had surgery this morning. He’s out for the season. https://t.co/JxUTJuX46U
