Bill Connelly’s SP+ likes Washington in the game of the week in college football.

The predictive model is calling for a 32-30 Husky win over the Ducks on Saturday at Husky Stadium. It gives UW a 55% chance of winning and pushing its record to 6-0.

Both teams enter the heated rivalry matchup unbeaten, and both are coming off a bye week. Washington is ranked seventh in the country, Oregon is eighth. Some believe this will be an early preview of the Pac-12 title game. It absolutely figures to have College Football Playoff implications as well.

A two-point margin would mean the game lived up to the billing.

These two teams possess two of the top three offenses in college football. Washington has the more efficient offense, Oregon has been the more prolific scoring unit.

The game will feature elite quarterbacks and receivers. Aggressive play-callers man the sidelines. Points are expected in bunches.

Between them, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix have three interceptions in 341 pass attempts this season. Both Washington and Oregon are tied for the second-fewest sacks given up this year (three each). These offenses don’t go backwards and they don’t turn the football over.

The game could come down to whoever has the football last. Or we could see a signature moment where a defense rises up and makes a handful of winning plays the other side doesn’t.

Kickoff on Saturday is set for 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
