College GameDay in Seattle: Washington's complete history with GameDay
College GameDay will make just its third-ever trip to Seattle next weekend when Washington hosts Oregon.
The traveling pregame show on ESPN will broadcast live from UW’s campus in Week 7 ahead of a top-10 showdown between the Huskies and Ducks. It’ll be the first time the show has visited since 2016.
UW is 5-0 and on its bye week this weekend. When it welcomes the Ducks to Husky Stadium, it’ll look to remain unbeaten and solidify its standing as a legitimate threat for the College Football Playoff. The program’s history with the show doesn’t bode well for that cause.
Washington is 0-2 all-time when hosting GameDay. In 2016, then-No. 4 Washington welcomed the show to town for a matchup with USC and lost 26-13.
The only other time GameDay has gone to Seattle was in 2013 when then-No. 16 Washington lost to then-No. 12 Oregon, 45-24.
UW has been featured on the show a total of seven times in its history. Next Saturday’s game will mark the eighth appearance. The record — 1-6 — is not great:
- Rose Bowl game vs. Ohio State on Jan. 1, 2019 — Washington lost 28-23
- at Utah on Oct. 29, 2016 — Washington won 31-24
- vs. USC on Nov. 12, 2016 — Washington lost 26-13
- vs. Oregon on Oct. 12, 2013 — Washington lost 45-24
- at Ohio State on Aug. 30, 2003 — Washington lost 28-9
- at Michigan on Aug. 31, 2002 — Washington lost 31-29
- at Nebraska on Sept. 26, 1998 — Washington lost 55-7
Kickoff next Saturday between No. 7 Washington (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) and No. 8 Oregon (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) is set for 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
