AP Top 25: Washington earns highest ranking since 2018 after Colorado beatdown
After beating Colorado 54-7 at home, Washington moved up once again in the AP Top 25.
The Huskies enter into a regular-season finale against Washington State ranked No. 12 in the latest media poll, released Sunday. Washington is one of six Pac-12 teams ranked in the Top 25. Curiously, it sits two spots behind Oregon even though both teams have the same record and UW beat the Ducks in Eugene on Nov. 12, 37-34.

UW was ranked as high as ninth on ballots this week — appearing in the spot on three of 63 ballots. Four others had UW at No. 10. It was ranked as low as No. 16.
This is the highest ranking the Huskies have achieved in the AP poll since checking in at No. 9 on Dec. 2, 2018. The Huskies finished that season 10-4, and they’ll have a chance again this year to reach double-digit wins.
To do so, they’ll need payback on Washington State for last year’s Apple Cup debacle at Husky Stadium. The Cougars ended a seven-game losing streak to the Huskies with a 40-13 win and a planting of the Wazzu flag at midfield. Kickoff in the 102nd Apple Cup is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
