Utah looks to have some playmakers at wideout heading into the new season.

Devaughn Vele had a tremendous camp and was targetted on the first play of Utah’s spring game on Saturday. Quarterback Cameron Rising delivered a dart to the left sideline downfield, just over the outstretched arm of a defender, and Vele dragged his back foot to haul in the reception. Pretty nice!

Then Makai Cope one-upped Vele.

And, oh, by the way, it was raining in Salt Lake City.

Rising led the Utes down the field for a touchdown on his first drive, delivering some darts in the process. That throw to Cope was certainly a highlight. Here’s one more look at it:

Nothing the defensive back can do about that.

Cope, a redshirt freshman, saw action in two games last season for the Utes. He appeared on special teams against Weber State and Ohio State. Keep making plays like that and there will be no shortage of opportunities during the upcoming season.
