Utah will be wearing red on Thursday. Dress accordingly.

The Utes revealed their Week 1 uniform combination on Monday. The two-time defending Pac-12 champs are rolling with an all-red kit as they begin their title defense. Tailback Jaylon Glover modeled the look for the first game of the season.

The anticipation for this new season has been building for some time. Utah opens the year at No. 14 in the AP poll but could begin play without its starting quarterback.

Cameron Rising’s status is up in the air as kickoff approaches. The senior tore his ACL in the Rose Bowl back in January and has spent the months since trying to get himself ready for one last ride with the Utes.

Of course, the new year also marks one last ride in the conference. The Pac-12 appears set to dissolve after the season, with Utah joining three others in a move to the Big 12, Oregon and USC leading a group of four to the Big Ten, and Stanford and Cal looking likely to join the ACC.

Closing the chapter on their stint in the so-called Conference of Champions with an unprecedented three-peat would be a storybook ending.

But first, all the attention is on opening the year with a win. The Gators and Utes kick off at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN this Thursday.
