Utah will begin the 2023 football season on ESPN.

On Wednesday, kickoff times and TV designations were set for four of Utah’s 2023 games, including the first three contests of the season. The Utes have challengers from other Power Five leagues in back-to-back weeks to open the campaign, and both games will be shown on ESPN.

The game against the Gators on Thursday, Aug. 31, is slated to kick off at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN. It’s the Gators’ first non-conference road game outside of the state of Florida since 1991, and they get the two-time defending Pac-12 champs. Utah is 77-51-1 all-time in season openers, only losing three in the last 16 seasons.

A week later, on Sept. 9, Utah heads to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor. That game is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PT on ESPN.

In its final non-conference game, Utah will host the Weber State Wildcats on Saturday, Sept. 16, in Rice-Eccles Stadium at 11 a.m. PT on Pac-12 Network. Utah is 6-0 all-time against Weber State with all six wins coming in Salt Lake City.

The Pac-12 also announced “special date” games on Wednesday; the Utes’ Friday night battle in Corvallis against Oregon State on Sept. 29 is set for a 6 p.m. PT kick on FS1.

Start times and TV networks for Utah’s remaining regular-season games will be made in the standard 6-to-12-day window in advance of each contest.
