Tyler Knaak is leaving the Utah football team after 1 season with Utes.

Knaak took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal. He shared a note with the following:

I want to start off by showing my appreciation.

Thank you to the Greater Salt Lake area community for supporting and believing in me when others didn’t. Thank you to everyone at Utah Foster Care and Utah Humane Society for allowing me to give back to this community.

Finally, a thank you to my father, my mother, and family for believing in me and being by my side through it all.

Thank you to the coaching staff, my teammates, and the University of Utah athletics department for giving me a chance to succeed.

Following spring practices, I have come to understand that it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility remaining. I am excited to see where I’II call home.

A Brighton product from Salt Lake City, Knaak was a 3-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He chose Utah over scholarship offers from 11 other schools, including Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and USC.

Knaak did not log any snaps in the Utes’ 2022 season.
