Utah men’s basketball lost a player to the transfer portal on Tuesday. The Utes finished the season at 17-15 after losing to Stanford 73-62 in the Pac-12 Tournament.

Jaxon Brenchley announced that for his final year of eligibility he will entering the transfer portal. Brenchley played in 19 games for Utah this season. Here’s what he had to say about the decision.

“It has been an honor to represent the runnin’ Utes and play such a historic program these past four years. I’ve gained friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. I’ll be graduating this May. With my remaining year of eligibility, I’ll be entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer. Thank you to my wife, family, friends, fans, teammates, and especially coach Krystkowiak for the support and opportunity to play at this level.”

Brenchley was originally a 3-star SG from the 2017 class per the 247Sports Composite. Brenchley played at Mountain Crest in Hyrum, Utah. The in-state product was ranked as the No. 84 SG and No. 4 Utah prospect from the 2017 class.

As a whole, Brenchley played in 96 games for Utah. In the 19 games he appeared in during the 2022 season Brenchley averaged 1 point, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists. It’ll be interesting to see where Brenchley ends up next.
