Utah earns commitment from promising 2023 offensive lineman
On the eve of its new season, Utah received some great news for the 2023 recruiting class.
Sonora (Calif.) offensive lineman Roger Alderman announced that he has committed to the Utes. The 3-star offensive lineman chose the Utes over Colorado and Oregon State.

Alderman ranks as the 49th-best offensive tackle prospect in the class, according to the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s also the 44th-ranked prospect from the state of California. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman has an 81-inch wingspan and 10-inch hands, per his Twitter account.
“The coaches played a big role in my decision,” Alderman told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman. “Utah has a very successful football program and stable environment with coach (Kyle) Whittingham and coach (Jim) Harding. They have been with the program a very long time. I feel like coach Harding will help me develop into a great offensive lineman.”
His pledge gives Utah its 13th known commitment in the class. He’s also the first offensive lineman.
