He recently played for Turkey at the U19 FIBA World Cup and helped lead Turkey to the Bronze Medal. Turkey defeated Team USA in the Bronze Medal game to reach the podium.
Efeoğlu’s best game at the U19 World cup came in the quarterfinals against Canada. He scored 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting and made 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Across 7 games at the event, Efeoğlu averaged 11.6 points per game on better than 47% shooting from the floor. He also made 44% of his 3-point tries.
Efeoğlu is listed at 6-foot-8, giving Utah additional size and length at the forward position.
He joins a transfer portal class at Utah that also includes former Washington forward Cole Bajema, former Georgia Tech guard Deivon Smith and ex-Colorado center Lawson Lovering.
Utah has now filled its full allotment of scholarship for the 2023-24 season.
