Utah football landed a commitment from a longtime target Monday, earning a pledge from 4-star WR David Washington.

Washington, who stands at 6-foot, 185 pounds, hails from Las Vegas Academy and is a rising senior as part of the 2024 cycle. He chose the Utes over the likes of UCLA, Oregon State and Cal among offers from Miami, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, BYU and Oregon.

That’s a huge win for the Utes, who have struggled on the recruiting trail so far this offseason. Utah only has 6 commitments in the 2024 cycle, with Washington now being the sole WR prospect to verbally commit. He’s also Utah’s 2nd highest-rated recruit so far this cycle behind QB Issac Wilson.

Washington is considered to be the No. 438 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 46 WR and No. 2 player from the state of Nevada, per 247Sports. Washington is rated as a 3-star prospect by some recruiting services such as On3Sports.
