Pat McAfee and Steve Smith Sr. together on the set of ESPN’s College GameDay was absolutely electric Saturday morning.

Put down the coffee. Don’t reach for that Red Bull in the fridge. Just listen in to the final segment of GameDay from Salt Lake City and you’ll get plenty fired up for the day ahead.

Smith, the celebrity guest picker this week, seemed to feed off the energy from McAfee.

“I can lift this table, this chair, break this table, let’s go Utah!” Smith yelled as he turned to the Utah crowd.

GameDay was making its first appearance on Utah’s campus since 2016. Ahead of a massive collision between No. 8 Oregon and No. 13 Utah, all eyes are on Salt Lake City.

And the Utes largely delivered.

Friday’s rendition of The Pat McAfee Show saw Utah coach Kyle Whittingham ride onto the set on a Harley — decked out in a cutoff shirt, a backward hat, and sunglasses — and then arm wrestle McAfee at the dais.

The crowd was up bright and early Saturday morning to fire up the GameDay hosts, and Kirk Herbstreit showed some love after the show’s conclusion.
