It marks the second transfer for Simmons. A former Class of 2019 prospect, Simmons signed with North Carolina out of high school. After 3 seasons at UNC, Simmons transferred to Indiana.
Simmons has played 4 seasons of college football without using a redshirt. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the 2020 season allows him to play in 2023 for the Utes as a super senior.
With the Tar Heels, Simmons recorded 30 catches for 516 yards and 3 touchdowns in 30 games (14 starts). In his season with the Hoosiers, Simmons had 37 catches for 408 yards and a TD.
