Deivon Smith is headed to the Pac-12 in his latest transfer. The former Georgia Tech guard who began his career at Mississippi State will play for the Utah Utes in 2023-24.

Smith announced his transfer commitment on social media, posting a note and photos in his new uniform:

“I’d first like to thank Georgia Tech for giving me unforgettable memories and friendships. Forever grateful.

“Second, I would like to thank all of the schools that recruited me to this point.

“With that said, I’m beyond excited to announce that I will be headed to the University of Utah in beautiful Salt Lake City. This is a great opportunity for my family and our well being!

Smith joins the Utes after playing in 48 games, starting 18, over 2 seasons at Georgia Tech. He averaged 6.8 points and 2.9 assists with a 1.85-1 assist/turnover ratio. This past season, Smith started 13 games, including 4 against ACC teams, and averaged 24.8 minutes.
