Cam Rising has made his plans for the 2024 season clear.

The star quarterback, who has missed the entirety of the season due to an injury from last season’s Rose Bowl, is returning to Utah for his seventh season of eligibility. Rising announced his decision on social media Sunday afternoon.

In his five seasons — 2 of which he was the starter — Rising has recorded 5,572 yards and 46 touchdowns. He led the Utes to back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since 2009 and 2010 during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, as well as Pac-12 championships and Rose Bowl appearances, solidifying himself as a Utah legend.

Now, he’s back for one more year and looking for a big season.

Utah has struggled in his absence, sitting at 7-4 on the season and coming off back-to-back losses against Washington and Arizona. Utah will close out the season next week against Colorado.

Bryson Barnes has managed well in Rising’s absence, recording 1,517 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season, but Utes fans will be glad to have Rising back next season.
