Britain Covey will look to end his rookie season in the NFL with a Super Bowl ring when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

The Pac-12 Network caught up with Covey, a receiver and return man for the Eagles, at the Super Bowl Media Night event on Monday to talk to him about his first year in the league.

Covey showed some love to head coach Kyle Whittingham and the Utah program for helping to prepare him for the NFL.

“For me, it wasn’t that big of a jump to the NFL because I had such great players that I went against day in and day out,” Covey said. “Just the culture of the team… they run that like an NFL program. Coach Whitt, Scalley, Shaw, it’s like the best guys ever, and I love them. Shout out to them.

“It wasn’t that crazy of a jump to me in that sense because they prepare you for things like that.”

Covey had 33 punt returns and 10 kick returns for the Eagles this season. He was Philly’s primary return man on the punt team and the second-leading kickoff returner.

A native of Provo, Utah, Covey left the Utes’ program as one of the most beloved playmakers in program history. He earned five All-Pac-12 selections — four as a returner (first-team in 2018, 2020, 2021) and one as a receiver — and five All-American nods.

In 47 career appearances, he set the program record for punt return yards in a career (1,092). He also ranks in the top 10 all-time at Utah in career punt returns (second, 92), receptions (second, 184), all-purpose yards (third, 4,241), and receiving yards (sixth, 2,011).

Covey went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft but worked his way into a role with the team.

The Eagles and Chiefs play Sunday at 3:30 p.m. PT.
