Andy Ludwig was shown sitting next to Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman during a Fighting Irish hockey game on Friday night.

His presence in South Bend was previously reported by ESPN on Friday. Ludwig is believed to be the top candidate for Notre Dame’s OC vacancy.

Here’s video from the Peacock broadcast of the Notre Dame-Ohio State hockey game:

Ludwig has been Utah’s offensive coordinator since 2019. The Utes have had an efficient offense during every year of his tenure. Utah has averaged at least 6.3 yards per play in 3 of his 4 seasons in the role.

Ludwig, 58, is a Utah native. He’s originally from Ogden, Utah. This is his 3rd overall stint with the program. He was a graduate assistant with the Utes in 1992. He was also Utah’s offensive coordinator from 2005-08.
