Andy Ludwig has been Utah’s offensive coordinator during a particularly successful stretch for Utes football. Now, he could be on the move to a new destination after the 2022 season.

According to ESPN’s Heather Dinich, Ludwig is arriving at Notre Dame “soon” for an on-site interview with head coach Marcus Freeman. The Fighting Irish are looking for a new OC ever since Tommy Rees left to take the OC job at Alabama.

Dinich reports Ludwig is a finalist for the opening but has not yet been offered a job, but Ludwig remains a strong possibility for the Irish.

Ludwig originally joined Kyle Whittingham’s staff in 2019 after a 3-year stint at Vanderbilt. In that time, Utah has won 10+ games in every full season (3-2 during the shortened 2020 season) with the offense averaging 32+ points in those seasons.

Needless to say, losing Ludwig would be a loss for the staff at Utah after back-to-back Pac-12 titles.
