One day after being named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, USC defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu was named one of four finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award.

The Nagurski Trophy is presented to the nation’s best defensive player. The Lombardi Award goes to the top offensive or defensive lineman. Tuipulotu and Alabama’s Will Anderson are finalists for both. Georgia’s Brock Bowers and Jalen Carter are finalists for the Lombardi. Pitt defensive tackle Calijah Kancey and Georgia safety Chris Smith.

Tuipulotu is the nation’s second-leading sack man with 11.5 on the season. He also ranks fourth nationally with 17.5 tackles for loss. He also has three pass breakups at the line and two forced fumbles.

A 6-foot-4 junior from Hawthorne, Tuipulotu is USC’s first Nagurski finalist in 14 seasons. The only other finalist from USC was linebacker Rey Maualga (2008).

The winner of the Nagurski Trophy will be announced on Dec. 5. The Lombardi Award winner will be announced on Dec. 7.
