USC WR commit Makai Lemon explodes for Los Alamitos on national stage
Los Alamitos battled American Heritage (Fla.) on national television on Saturday, and though the team lost, USC wideout commit Makai Lemon had himself a day he might not want to forget.
Lemon showcased his absurd talent, piling up more than 200 yards receiving and three touchdowns on 17 receptions — catching passes from fellow USC commit Malachi Nelson. He found the end zone five times in the game. A 67-yard touchdown reception was negated by a penalty. And a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was negated by a penalty.
Good grief!#USC WR Makai Lemon just keeps on BALLING OUT even in a blowout loss. He scores his third TD on the final play of the game and finishing with around 200 yards receiving. He also had a 65-yard screen TD and a 97-yard kickoff return TD called back by penalties.

Los Alamitos ultimately lost 56-27 to American Heritage, ranked 19th in the nation by MaxPreps. The Griffins won their opener against Garces Memorial last week 41-0.
The 6-foot Lemon rates as a 4-star in the industry-generated 247 Composite. More games like Saturday’s and he might add that fifth star. Currently, he’s ranked as the 45th-best prospect in the 2023 class.
