USC is reportedly hiring UCLA’s D’Anton Lynn to be the program’s next defensive coordinator.

A disastrous week for UCLA continued. News that the program planned to bring back Chip Kelly for the 2024 season was met with widespread criticism from the Bruins fanbase. Then 5-star 2023 signee Dante Moore announced he was entering the transfer portal after just one season with the Bruins. Now Lynn is jumping ship to go to UCLA’s crosstown rival.

In an exclusive interview with The L.A. Times this week, UCLA athletic director Martin Jarmond defended the decision to retain Kelly by saying, in part, he was excited about the trajectory of the program and wanted to place a premium on staff continuity.

“I’m excited, I think there’s so many positives with the program,” Jarmond told The Times.

But with so many key faces exiting the program, fans were left questioning what kind of trajectory the 7-5 Bruins are actually on.
