USC set to host top-100 edge defender for official visit
USC will host 4-star edge defender Kameryn Fountain on an official visit June 1-4.
Fountain shared the bit of scheduling news on social media Wednesday. It’s a major development for USC as it looks to bolster its defensive front ahead of the program’s move to the Big Ten. A 6-foot-6, 237-pounder from Atlanta (Ga.) Booker T. Washington, USC is one of only two programs so far to have an official on the books.
Tennessee is the other (June 23), and the Vols are viewed as the frontrunner in Fountain’s recruitment. To get him out of the SEC footprint, an official is huge.

Fountain recorded 56 tackles, seven sacks, three fumble recoveries, and a pass breakup for Booker T. Washington as a junior last fall. He also got a few offensive snaps and played on the school’s basketball team.
He ranks as the No. 81 overall recruit in the 2024 class, per the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s the No. 7 edge defender in the class and the No. 11 recruit from the state of Georgia. He saw a massive jump in his standing in March, going from outside the top 250 in both 247Sports’ rankings and the Composite to inside the top 100.
USC currently holds just three verbal commitments in the 2024 cycle. The coaching staff is still looking to get the ball rolling on that front.
