USC named finalist for blue-chip 2024 defensive lineman
USC is one of four finalists for Fairfield (Calif.) Armijo defensive lineman Jericho Johnson.
The blue-chip defender revealed his final four on Thursday. USC, Washington, Oregon, and Utah are all left standing in the race for his signature. He has yet to set a firm commitment date, but the expectation is he won’t commit until after the calendar turns to November, according to 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman.

Johnson took an official visit to UW back in June — the only official he made during the summer. Per Huffman, he plans to take official visits to his other three finalists in the coming months.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound defender, Johnson is a consensus 4-star prospect. In the industry-generated 247 Composite, he ranks as the No. 18 defensive lineman in the 2024 class and the No. 15 prospect from the state of California. In the national player rankings, he currently sits at No. 124.
As a junior last fall, Johnson collected 36 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and nine sacks through eight games.
USC’s 2024 class currently ranks top-15 nationally. The Trojans hold 16 known commitments, nine of which have come from blue-chippers. You can see Johnson’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
