USC named finalist for 4-star LB out of Texas
USC is 1 of 5 teams still in the mix to land 4-star linebacker Tyanthony Smith.
Smith named his finalists on Thursday afternoon. He’s also still considering Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas A&M.

Smith is a top target for the Trojans. He’s the No. 328 overall player and the No. 29 linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Smith is also the No. 57 player from Texas.
He attends Jasper High School in Jasper, Texas. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds.
Smith initially received an offer from USC back in December of 2022. He’s expected to take an official visit to campus later this month. He previously visited Texas A&M and also has plans to see Oklahoma and Texas this summer.
USC has 10 commits so far in the class of 2024. The group ranks No. 17 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
