USC made the cut for 4-star athlete Daniel Hill.

Hill, a Mississippi native, announced a commitment date and trimmed his list of potential programs to 5 on Friday. In addition to the Trojans, Hill is still considering Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and Mississippi State.

He will announce his decision on Aug. 23:

Hill is the No. 193 overall player and the No. 14 athlete in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 6 player from the state of Mississippi.

Although Hill is listed as an athlete, he’s expected to play running back at the collegiate level.

Hill attends Meridian High School in Meridian, Mississippi. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds.

It’s unclear if Hill intends to take an official visit to USC prior to announcing his commitment. He visited Alabama and South Carolina back in June.

USC has 17 commits so far in the class of 2024. The Trojans don’t yet have a running back committed in this cycle. The group sits at No. 5 in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
