USC announced the signing of Mesa (Ariz.) Red Mountain 4-star wideout Ja’Kobi Lane on Wednesday.

Though Lane had been committed to the Trojans since last August, he held off signing during the December window. There was some question as to whether that meant the Trojans could possibly lose the explosive wide receiver, but he removed all doubt on National Signing Day.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound Lane is a big play waiting to happen. He produced 990 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior, and then 823 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.

Lane is viewed by 247Sports as the fifth-best recruit from Arizona and the No. 32 wideout in the class. In the industry-generated 247 Composite, Lane is ranked much lower at No. 392 overall and the No. 58 wide receiver in the nation.

The Trojans put together an impressive wide receiver class during the 2023 cycle that includes 5-star receiver Zachariah Branch, 4-star wideout Makai Lemon, and Arizona transfer Dorian Singer.
