USC linebacker Tackett Curtis had a terrific performance against Arizona State during Week 4, and that earned him Pac-12 freshman of the week honors, the league announced on Monday.

Curtis, in just his 4th collegiate game, totaled 7 tackles against the Sun Devils, including a pair of sacks, the first ones of his career. USC ended up winning 42-28 to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Curtis, a Many, La., product, was one of Lincoln Riley’s primary recruits in the 2023 cycle, rated as the No. 9 linebacker in the country by 247Sports’ composite. He signed with the Trojans on March 28.

According to the Pac-12, Curtis is the first USC player to garner freshman of the year honors since 2021, when Jaxson Dart received a nod in 2021.

USC looks to remain unbeaten on the season as it travels to Boulder to face Deion Sanders and Colorado. FOX will carry the game, which will kick off at 9 a.m. ET.
