USC guard Reese Dixon-Waters was named the 2023 Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year on Tuesday.

The sophomore guard played 25 minutes a night this season for a USC team that ended the regular season third in the Pac-12 — a fourth consecutive top-three finish. Dixon-Waters averaged 9.5 points a game, the third-most on the team behind Boogie Ellis and Drew Peterson.

Dixon-Waters is USC’s first winner of the award since Glenn Smith took it home as a senior in 1984-85. It has only been given out 10 times, but USC is one of only three teams in the conference that now has multiple winners.

The Trojans are in Las Vegas this week for the Pac-12 Tournament. They’ll begin play as the No. 3 seed on Thursday, with a quarterfinal matchup against either No. 6 Arizona State or No. 11 Oregon State. Tip-off is tentatively set for 8:30 p.m. PT on Thursday.
