Boogie is back.

The USC guard is returning to Los Angeles for his senior season, pulling his name out of the 2022 NBA Draft prior to the June 1 deadline. USC announced the news on social media.

Ellis helped lead the Trojans to a 26-8 record, putting up 12.5 points and 2.4 assists per game in 33 starts.

TrojanSports’ Ryan Young reported in late March that coach Andy Enfield expected both Ellis and guard Drew Peterson to return for the 2022-23 season. Peterson has also put his name into the draft but did so while maintaining his eligibility. He hasn’t yet announced whether he’ll stay in the pool or return to USC.

With Ellis back in the fold, the Trojans get their lead guard back. After spending the first two years of his career at Memphis, the 6-foot-3 guard stepped into an immediate role with the Trojans in his first year. He finished second on the team in scoring and third among rotation players in 3-point shooting (38%).

With Ethan Anderson hitting the transfer portal, getting Ellis back is a big win for Enfield.
