USC has dipped into the transfer portal and come up with one of the best available wide receivers for the second offseason in a row.

Dorian Singer announced his commitment to USC on Monday, giving the Trojans another weapon to add to a Lincoln Riley offense that ranked among college football’s best in 2022. It’s a perfect pairing considering Singer, a 6-foot-1 sophomore, was one of the most productive receivers in the country for the Wildcats this season.

After two years in Tucson, Singer will have three seasons to play two with the Trojans.

A Saint Paul, Minnesota native, Singer played the final five games of his freshman season in 2021 and started in the team’s lone win over Cal. He caught 18 passes for 301 yards for an average of 16.7 yards per catch, a team-high.

That set to table for what was to come in 2022 when the Wildcats added quarterback Jayden de Laura from the portal and embarked on an air-it-out offensive renaissance.

Arizona was top-20 nationally in terms of passes thrown per game, and Singer was one of the favorite targets of that high-usage aerial attack.  He led the Pac-12 in receiving yards this season with 1,105 on 66 catches (another 16.7 per-catch average). Singer combined with Jacob Cowing to give Arizona its first pair of 1,000-yard receiving teammates in program history.

Singer led all Pac-12 players this season in contested catches with 12, and ranked fifth in the league in yards after the catch. He showed off the ability to go up over his man and make highlight-reel plays or take the ball in space and do damage.

He made incredible catches almost weekly, and USC fans will remember him well. Against the Trojans, Singer hauled in seven balls for 141 yards and three scores — highlighted by a one-handed touchdown grab in the first quarter.

Singer stunned folks when he jumped into the transfer portal when the window opened on Dec. 5. He immediately became one of the most coveted wideouts available.

At USC, he’ll be able to pair with the reigning Heisman Trophy winner in quarterback Caleb Williams and a crop of receivers that should once again be as deep as any in the country.

USC is set to lose Jordan Addison to the NFL Draft and Terrell Bynum to graduation, but the Trojans are expected to return Tahj Washington, Kyle Ford, Kyron Ware-Hudson, and Michael Jackson III, all contributors this past season. They’ll also add 5-star wideouts Zachariah Branch and Makai Lemon from the 2023 high school class.

Singer marks the second transfer commitment to USC from Arizona. The Trojans also received a commitment from former Wildcat defensive lineman Kyon Barrs last week.
