USC flips 2023 lineman from Cal after big recruiting weekend
The first of what should be several commitments from a star-studded weekend of official visitors is in.
Amos Talalele, a 3-star defensive lineman from Santa Clara (Calif.), announced on social media Monday that he has committed to USC. The news comes less than a month after Talalele had previously taken an official visit to and verbally committed to Cal.
“I went out to USC and decided my heart is in LA,” he wrote.

His pledge gives USC its 10th known commitment. More are expected to follow after head coach Lincoln Riley sent up the proverbial bat signal at the conclusion of the weekend.
Talalele is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman, marking a string of three straight commitments for the Trojans along the line of scrimmage. He played both ways at defensive tackle and offensive tackle for Santa Clara, and it appears he might start on the offensive side of the ball with the Trojans.
He ranks as the 39th-best prospect from the state of California and the 516th overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, per the industry-generated 247 Composite. You can view his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
