USC, DirecTV announce multi-year partnership to begin this fall
USC and DirecTV have announced a multi-year sponsorship for all sports that is set to begin this fall.
According to a release, DirecTV will be “present at USC Football home games with in-venue signage, in-game exposure, and hospitality.” The company says it will also feature in football broadcasts on the USC Trojan Media Network.

USC will begin the 2023 football season at home against San Jose State. That game is set to be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network — meaning DirecTV subscribers won’t be able to watch the game.
To that end, a partnership with DirecTV a day before the Trojans’ final year in the Pac-12 carries with it some wonderful irony. The Pac-12’s inability to obtain a solid distribution network for the Pac-12 Network under Larry Scott played a large role in the erosion of the conference. Infamously, the league was never able to get its network onto DirecTV.
With the viability of the league looking suspect in the latest round of media rights negotiations, USC decided to jump to the Big Ten. That decision a year ago started everything else in motion.
USC will begin play in the Big Ten in 2024.
And, yes, that new league and its network are available on DirecTV.
